Family Camp 2019

This past weekend we had our Annual Family Camp! Family Camps are a super special program in our camp calendar because they mean the whole family unit of our camp kids get to come along as well! Here's what some of the people involved had to say about their experience:

From one of our volunteers:

"Wild, magical and liberating. These are three words that describe the bare minimum of Eddie Rice Camps. It is the friendships formed between the volunteers and the participants that paint such a colourful atmosphere each camp, and this is what keeps bringing me back. Being part of this community filled with wholesome vibes goes to show that there are kind-hearted people out there who belie ve in the common good. The recent Family Camp at Mylor was an authentic experience for me that highlighted the importance of family and friends. Even though the camp lasted the weekend, the bonds shared between parent and child were something easily identified and strengthened. The families participated in arts and craft, went on a nature scavenger hunt, created scrapbooks and roasted marshmallows at the bonfire. The tradition of candle sharing was an amazing opportunity for everyone to reflect on the rawness of Eddie Rice Camps. I am eternally grateful to be part of this journey, to have a positive impact on someone else, to be immersed in pure joy."

From one of the Mums who came along with her kids:

"Thank you so much for camp it was amazing, kids had the best time and all of your volunteers are so fantastic humans...we needed this happy family time so much, I hope u guys know how much we appreciate this time."

From Br. Cogs who visited the camp:

"...pass on my congratulations to each Leader. Their talents and their presence were and are a gift to those they interact with on these Camps. I have very little experience of being on a Family Camp. Sadly my time with you was brief but in that space, I imbibed the vibes created around me. This experience goes into my bag of ERCamp treasures to be recalled and cherished."

Big thanks to everyone who helped make it happen!
